Boston Scientific says it has received FDA approval for its Taxus Liberte Atom, a drug-eluting stent intended for small blood vessels in the heart. The stent, considered a new-generation product, is expected to go on sale in the United States in June. The device is intended for opening vessels with a diameter as small as 2.25 millimeters. A similar stent, the Taxus Express Atom Stent, also made by Boston Scientific, already has FDA approval for small vessels. (Click here for more)
