U.S.-based Boston Scientific plans to invest $127.7 million in its Irish plant, including adding an additional 45 jobs in Galway. Boston Scientific already had acquired Labcoat, an Irish startup also located in Galway. In addition to continuing to produce products for coronary stents and biodegradable coatings, the Irish plant is intended to become more involved in the earliest stages of research, development and innovation.
