Covidien has been ranked as the best innovator of medical devices by the Wall Street Journal-associated Patent Board. The board said that of 122 companies it surveyed according to the strength of portfolios, Covidien moved up from last year’s runner-up company to the overall winner based on the quality and quantity of its intellectual property.
