Stryker has been sued by patients who say its pumps for delivering pain drugs after surgery caused them to develop arthritis. According to one of four suits filed in a Philadelphia federal court, Stryker concealed or misrepresented information about the safety and efficacy of the pumps. The pumps deliver drugs through a catheter to a surgical wound or surrounding nerves. One of the plaintiffs said he developed a nearly complete loss of cartilage in a shoulder joint after relying on the pump in 2002. (Click here for more)
