Smith & Nephew says its Orthopaedics Division won a technology-development contract from the Defense Department’s major research arm. The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency awarded the contract to Smith & Nephew to develop a fracture putty to repair injuries on the battlefield. Smith & Nephew is to be the sole contractor to develop the material, which might also be used to treat civilian injuries. (Click here for more)
