Zimmer Holdings, Smith & Nephew, Johnson & Johnson andStryker are among likely licensers of the surgery-planning software of Fusion IP. Fusion said it has licensed its device to a global orthopedic device maker, but did not identify the buyer. Zimmer, Smith & Nephew, J&J and Stryker are leaders in the field. Fusion says its software, developed at the University of Sheffield in England, automatically labels anatomical features such as bone and muscle during scans.
