Biomet said it intends to buy nearly all of Cytosol Laboratories, producer of small-volume anticoagulants, for an undisclosed price. With the purchase, Biomet, which makes musculoskeletal devices, gets three newly approved products and devices to process blood components. Biomet considers the Cytosol products capable of working well with Biomet’s own devices, including its GPS III Platelet Separation System and its BioCue Platelet Concentration system.
