PerkinElmer has filed in a Canadian court to block the sale by its MDS joint venture of MDS Analytical Technologies business to Danaher. Danaher agreed in September to buy the business from MDS for $650 million. MDS said the joint venture with PerkinElmer involved development, production and marketing of plasma mass spectrometers. The MDS technology line produces less than 10 percent of the joint venture’s analytical technologies business, MDS said. MDS vowed to defend the sale if necessary.
