Philips Electronics has been countersued by Zoll Medical over the same defibrillator technology. Philips sued Zoll last month, accusing the latter of violating 15 patents for the AED Plus and AED Pro defibrillators. In response, Zoll sued Philips, accusing it of violating five patents for Zoll’s HeartStart MRx, HeartStart XL and HeartStart AED devices. Both suits involve external defibrillators, which have become major businesses for both companies. (Click here for more)
